Uplift a Life

Hungry Hearts mission is to uplift Atlanta's low-income residents through its outreach programs and community development events. To be uplifted, sometimes all a person needs to know is that someone cares. Sometimes they need more.

Social Services Program

To Help Them Live

Hungry Hearts provides various need-based social services to the community. From mass distribution of clothing and shoes to utility assistance. If we are unable to help directly, Hungry Hearts will use its wide network of friends to ensure that the client will get the referral to "make it happen". But your generous donation will "make it happen" a lot quicker.

Green Day 2016 Rescheduled for August 20th

"Green Day 2016" has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 20th.  In light of recent tragedies, we have changed the focus and name of the event to "The Community & Blue United : Adult Field Day" to promote peace, goodwill, and togetherness between our communities and law enforcement officers.  But ... a day of old-fashioned fun is still on the agenda with kickball, musical chairs, relay races, and much more.

Combined, we also want to make a statement to our city and county officials about the importance of their roles and decision-making on all of our behalf.

The Community & Blue United : Adult Field Day will be held between noon and 4 p.m. at Sumner Park, 1889 Lexington Ave, East Point, Georgia 30344.    In lieu of ticket sales, we are asking that you make a small donation to help fund Hungry Hearts' community outreach programs.  Non-credit/debit card donations can be mailed in or dropped off.  (see footer or sidebar)  Even if you are unable to attend the event, you can still lend a hand with a $5 or $10 donation to a worthy cause.

We still need corporate sponsors to help feed our volunteers.  Contact us to sign up for sponsorship or recommend a company.

This will be a great day of fun and fellowship!

Update:   The Community & Blue United : Adult Field Day has been canceled.  No additional information at this time.

The actual date and any other changes to the event will be announced in the upcoming weeks here and on Eventbrite's website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The good news is that you have plenty of time to purchase your tickets if you have not already done so.  Remember, proceeds will be used to provide food for the hungry and help with the basic needs of the homeless community.

Hungry Hearts Needs You - Lend a Hand

Hungry Hearts provides food, clothing, blankets, and personal care items to disadvantaged residents of Atlanta’s inner city.   As the needs of the community and ongoing expenses increases, please consider lending a hand by becoming a donor.

Currently, Hungry Hearts is an all-volunteer, home-based organization which means our overhead is minimal and the majority of all non-restricted donations are used for funding our community programs.  But we can only do so much without your help.

You can lend a hand in one or more ways.

  • Donate Money - We accept credit/debit cards, checks, money orders, and cash.  Credit/debit cards are processed by PayPal, but you do not need to have a PayPal account to donate.  Please make checks payable to Hungry Hearts.
  • Donate Goods – We accept clothing, blankets, canned goods, personal care products, and special items dependent on the event we are hosting.
  • Donate Your Time – Volunteers are always needed.  Contact us and let us know when you are available.
Hungry Hearts was granted its 501(c) (3) Nonprofit Status by the IRS in 2015 which means your donation is tax-deductible.

Thank you in advance for lending a hand to uplift a life.
